SAN DIEGO, CA. – July 1, 2008 – RMJ Marketing, Inc. dba Technologies announced today that it was awarded a contract by the Metropolitan Water District to provide the Networkfleet™ wireless vehicle management system operated by Networkcar. Networkfleet collects and transmits data wirelessly from a vehicle's on board computer (OBDII Port) and from a global positioning system (GPS), allowing fleet managers to continually monitor vehicle diagnostics and location information.
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a consortium of 26 cities and water districts that provides drinking water to nearly 18 million people in parts of Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura Counties. As a result, the Metropolitan Water District operates a large assortment of vehicles including heavy equipment and chlorine tankers from numerous locations within Southern California.
In competitive bidding, RMJ Technologies earned the award because of Networkfleet’s technical capabilities in not only providing vehicle location, but also its automated odometer readings, diagnostic alerts, and safety reports. With Networkfleet, fleet managers simply log on to a secure web site to track vehicle and asset location and diagnostics. Customers using Networkfleet receive instant notification when a vehicle has an engine problem so it can be repaired quickly plus eliminating the need for bi-annual smog checks in California. Real-time access to diagnostic information makes it easier for fleet managers to proactively fix vehicle problems before they escalate into larger issues.
"At RMJ Technologies, we work closely with fleet customers to provide them with the fleet management solutions system that best fits their needs. In this case, Networkfleet was the solution of choice," said Jerome Toliver, CEO of RMJ Technologies.
